Is there a way to exclude items that is a part of specific collection when browsing (short of ticking every collection and unticking what I don't want)? For instance, I don't want to see GitHub dumps when I look for old programs.

you can exclude a collection from your results by including in the query, as an example:

AND NOT collection:github_narabot_mirror
